Paul Triana

Paul Triana is an MSc student and researcher in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University and at the Metacreation Lab for Creative AI. He works on generative AI for creative tasks, with a focus on AI-assisted music composition and audio neural synthesis. His research explores how modern generative models can support, augment, and reshape human creative workflows rather than replace them.

He has a strong technical background, holding degrees in computer science and engineering, and brings a theoretical and systems-oriented perspective to research. His interests include representation learning for musical structure, controllable and interactive music generation, human–AI interaction in creative contexts, and practical deployment of generative models for artistic use.
