Misagh Azimi

Misagh Azimi is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher visiting the Metacreation Lab from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where he is completing his PhD. He composes for stage and visual media, and produces and releases his own music through the online label Warm Mud Records. His research focuses on small-data, artist-centred interventionist approaches towards text-to-audio GenAI, and examines the questions of labor, extraction, and technofeudalism that commercial GenAI raises. He has lectured in music and media at universities in Germany and New Zealand since 2019.
